Paitanic and other Austronesian languages of Sabah

Paitanic languages distribution

At least five Paitanic languages are still spoken in northeastern and central Sabah. Among the least known Sabahan languages, their distribution provides interesting evidence of the movements of their speakers. Some ten other Austronesian languages—which do not belong to the state's five major language groups—are spoken in Sabah, although for seven of these languages the majority speakers live outside Sabah.
