Dusunic languages of Sabah

Jim Johannson

Dusunic language speakers

Part of the Austronesian language stock, the Dusunic language group—comprising 13 languages, and an even greater number of dialects—is the largest language group in Sabah, with communities of speakers spread across much of the northern and central parts of the state. The languages exhibit a great deal of diversity, yet speakers recognize the unity in their language group and ethnicity. A standard language, 'Kadazandusun', is now taught in some schools.
