Menora
One of the 12 basic original dance movements in the Dance of the Master (Mae Bod).
Menora is a Thai-influenced folk theatre performed with stylized ritual dance, singing and the staging of plays from mythical stories. Rooted in ancient Thai and Malay shamanism, ritual beliefs and Thai Buddhism, it has absorbed elements from other theatre forms such as Mak Yong and Wayang Kulit. Menora is a prime example of cultural, artistic and religious fusion in traditional Malaysian performing arts.
