Malay television dramas

With the introduction of television services into Malaysia in November 1963, it was to be expected that eventually television drama would come into being. Malaysian audiences, in fact, did not have to wait long, for a year later almost to the day the first television drama was aired. Thus in addition to the cinema and live drama, television was to provide even greater entertainment choices. Since 1964 television drama, particularly in the Malay language, has provided a mixed fare, catering for both urban and rural audiences.
