Waves
The length of a wave (A, B and C) shortens as it approaches the shore due to the drag of the sea bottom.
Malaysia has a long coastline formed by various natural phenomena, including waves, which erode, transport and deposit sediments. Waves are irregular, their different heights, directions and strengths being due to varying sea bed conditions, wind strength, the size of water bodies and water depth. In Malaysian seas, the size of waves is also affected by the monsoon winds, with huge waves being generated off the east coast of the peninsula during the northeast monsoon at the end of the year.
