Water and other cycles
The nitrogen cycle
Many of the important elements that support the earth's biosphere, such as water, carbon and nitrogen, circulate in biogeochemical cycles (literally, 'life–earth–chemical' cycles). In Malaysia, as elsewhere, these unending exchanges of water, carbon and other compounds between the ocean, atmosphere and land are fundamental in shaping the face of the land, determining the nature of the climate, and supporting life.
