The seladang and wild pigs
Wild pigs fight shoulder to shoulder, slashing each other with their tusks.
While hunting of the seladang (gaur) (Bos gaurus), a very popular pastime among colonialists at the beginning of the 20th century, has long since ceased, Malaysia’s two wild pigs, the common wild pig (Sus scrofa) and the bearded pig (Sus barbatus), are still popular targets of hunters. All three animals are even-toed ungulates belonging to the order Artiodactyla. The seladang is a member of the cattle family Bovidae; the pigs belong to the family Suidae.
