Scorpions, centipedes and millipedes
The scorpion's sting is operated by opposing muscles at the base of the sting which contract and relax, forcing the sharp tip into the victim's tissue.
Although scorpions, centipedes and millipedes are not related in a scientific sense, people tend to link them together as in rural areas of Malaysia they are all found around habitated areas and all have the reputation of being dangerous. Although scorpions have poisonous stings and centipedes have poisonous bites, millipedes are not poisonous. Another incorrect perception is that centipedes and millipedes differ only in the number of legs; in fact, there are several differences between them.
