Birds of prey
Malaysia has 41 species of diurnal birds of prey, also called raptors, belonging to the order Falconiformes, some predators and others scavengers. These birds of prey occupy all types of habitat, from the mud flats of the coastal areas to the mountains. Some species are residents, some are migrants, while a few are vagrants, stopping only to feed and rest before continuing their migratory journey.
