Beetles and weevils
Malaysia's rainforests support a very high diversity of beetle species. A study of the leaf beetles of the subfamily Galerucinae from the Danum Valley, Sabah, revealed that an area of about 2 square kilometres contained about 200 species. While many of Malaysia's beetles cause damage to agricultural crops, there are others which prey on other harmful insects.
