Bats (kelawar) (order Chiroptera) form the largest group of mammals in Malaysia, comprising 40 per cent of the 280 species of mammals. These include members of both suborders, Megachiroptera ('big bats'), the fruit bats, and Microchiroptera ('little bats'), the insectivorous bats.
