Taman Negara

Taman Negara occupies an area of 434 350 hectares, of which 57 per cent lies in Pahang, and 24 and 19 per cent in Kelantan and Terengganu, respectively.

Malaysia is rich in life forms that occur in a variety of forest habitats, all of which are represented in Totally Protected Areas and Permanent Forest Estates. Forest reserves encompassing productive, protective and amenity forests come under Permanent Forest Estates. On the other hand, Totally Protected Areas consist of national and state parks, wildlife reserves and sanctuaries, virgin jungles and marine parks. The entire network plays a crucial role in conserving plant diversity, stabilizing the ecosystem, and maintaining a high standard of ecological services.
