Introduced ornamental plants
Most ornamental flowering trees, shrubs and herbs are of tropical origin. Exceptions are plants such as roses and chrysanthemums. Some of the tropical flowering plants found in Malaysia, including the National Flower, originated in other regions of the world. A large number of temperate flowers were also introduced, and now flourish in Malaysia's highland resorts and nurseries. A great variety of ornamental flowering plants can be seen in gardens, towns and nurseries where they are grown and bred for the cut-flower industry.
