Aquatic sports in Malaysia include the disciplines of swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, water polo and open water swimming. Introduced to the country in the early 20th century by Europeans, organized aquatics has steadily grown in popularity. Since the 1950s, Malaysians have been participating in international aquatic events, and have achieved significant success in regional competitions.
