Pétanque
An open space, a small wooden jack, metal boules and a couple of companions is all that one needs to begin playing pétanque. This French game is a variation of English bowls and Italian bocce and can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. Initially only popular in Europe, pétanque has spread to other parts of the world and is now played both as a recreational pastime and competitive sport.
