Lawn bowls
An end of a pairs game being played. Players from both teams alternate until they have each delivered four bowls.
Bowls has been played in the country since the late 19th century. The sport declined locally in the 1970s, but was revived in the late 1990s with the support and encouragement of the government. Malaysia first distinguished itself in the lawn bowling event at the 16th Commonwealth Games in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur. Under the Malaysia Lawn Bowls Federation (MLBF), Malaysia is now one of the leading countries in the sport of bowls.
