Since the late 1970s, squash has grown in prominence in Malaysia with international success providing evidence of the attention it has received from exponents of the sport. Already established as Asia’s top squash nation, Malaysia witnessed one of its own, Nicol David, rise in the international ranks to become ladies’ world champion in 2005. Squash has been selected by the government as one of the eight core sports, signalling a commitment to the development of future champions.
