Loy Chee Luen

Some Chinese recreational activities emphasize health by attaining a balance in body, mind and spirit, a principle embodied in taiji quan and qigong exercises. The importance of cultivating a person’s mental agility and strategic thinking is reflected by the Chinese community’s interest in games such as xiangi, weiqi and mahjong. Chinese children in Malaysia still take part in numerous pastimes that originated in ancient China.
