Kuala Lumpur

The central Kuala Lumpur skyline. In 2005, approximately 1.4 million people inhabited Kuala Lumpur, making it the most populous city in Malaysia.

With the industrialization of the country in the 1960s, industrial estates and satellite towns were developed. By 2005, nearly 63 per cent of the Malaysian population was living in urban areas. In addition to better opportunities for employment and business, urban dwellers enjoy more options in terms of education, health, infrastructure and entertainment.
