From the 1970s onwards, the economy underwent significant change, with manufacturing replacing agriculture as the engine of growth. While manufacturing encompasses a broad range of activities, one industry in particular has dominated the sector: electrical and electronic products. In addition to driving GDP growth, manufacturing has also had a major impact on trade and employment.
