Drawing on their heritage, history, Islamic teachings and values, the Malays in the various states in Peninsular Malaysia have developed a rich variety of cultural traditions in the form of customs, ceremonies, dwellings, handicraft, music and dance forms. These traditions exhibit variations from one region to another, reflecting the influence of immigrants from other parts of the Malay World as well as that of exogenous cultures.
