Information and the news media
The broadcast and print media have flourished in Malaysia, having grown from modest beginnings. Although freedom of speech is enshrined in the Federal Constitution, there are legal and other controls regulating the discussion of sensitive issues in the mass media. Nevertheless, the internet is unrestricted, and public debate is served by a wide spectrum of freely expressed opinion.
