The Malaysian Armed Forces
The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF)—comprising the army, navy and air force—form the vanguard of Malaysia's defence and security. Each service is composed of commissioned volunteers and reservists; there is no compulsory military service. With proven counter-insurgency warfare experience, the MAF continue to be transformed and upgraded in line with the demands placed on a modern fighting force.
