Langar

Traditionally, the congregation would sit on the floor, but in modern gurdwaras well equipped langar halls are available.

Originating in North India in the 15th century with the life and teachings of Guru Nanak, Sikhism evolved over the next 200 years into the form that is still practised today. Throughout those years ten gurus taught and defended the Sikh faith after which religious authority passed to the Guru Granth Sahib—the most sacred scripture of the Sikh religion. In the mid-19th century, Sikhism came to colonial Malaya.
