Islamic influence on society

Muhammad Uthman El-Muhammady

The influence of Islam on Malaysian society is evident in several ways, ranging from dakwah activities in the 1970s to forms of attire and art. Islamic influence is evident in the media, school uniforms and in the provision of prayer rooms in offices and shopping complexes. The emphasis on halal principles in food preparation and consumption and the application of Islamic norms and practices in medical establishments, banks and takaful insurance also show Islam's influence on everyday life.
