Islamic organizations and the Muslim world

Abdul Munir bin Yaacob

Regardless of the ethnic differences within it, the Muslim world is considered as one ummah (community), as emphasized in the Qur'an in Sura al-Anbiya verse 92, which means, ‘Surely this ummah of yours is one community'. This verse clearly states that a single universal community is the basis of Islamic solidarity. The thoughts and actions of Muslims may differ according to time and place but the basis of Islamic solidarity still remains, as far as the concept of one ummah is concerned. Therefore, it is important for a Muslim nation to maintain ties with others through Islamic organizations.
