Hindu worship and practice

Devapoopathy Nadarajah and R. Seeta Lechumi

Worship or puja is an essential aspect of Hindu daily life. Though congregational worship is common, worship is a personal experience. God, in his many forms, is worshipped, but devotees usually have a personal attachment to a particular divine form. Rituals in worship may differ but the aims are usually the same. Hindus conduct their worship at various places and in various ways. The two main places are the home or temple, either in groups or individually. Conducting puja is the main form of communicating with God.
