Hindu organizations and movements
The Hindu organizations and movements formed in the early years were attempts by Hindus to sustain their religious feelings and maintain their identity in a new land—till they returned to their homeland. With Independence many Hindus chose to remain in Malaysia. The aims of the organizations broadened and now they work to awaken Hindu consciousness among the second and third generation Hindus and to meet the challenges of a multi-cultural, multi-religious society.
