Devapoopathy Nadarajah and K.Thilagawathi

Hinduism comprises many sects but the common denominator is their acceptance of the Veda (sacred texts dating back to 1500–500 BCE). However, the Upanishad (sacred philosophical books from 400–200 BCE), the Bhagavad-Gita (from the Mahabharata) and the Vedanta Sutras are said to be the foundation of Vedanta (one of Hinduism's major schools of philosophy) and the monism it expounds. In common worship a vast pantheon of distinct gods is one of the most striking features of Hinduism. Ultimately, they are all manifestations of God.
