Christian rites of passage
The spiritual life of Christians is strengthened by various rites which correspond to the various stages in the development of the individual. Because different Christian denominations and churches recognize or emphasize different rites, it is actually impossible to describe them all. In general, however, most churches accept the rites of baptism and the Lord's Supper, even if these are understood and performed differently across churches. The Roman Catholic Church's understanding of the Christian rites of passage are outlined below.
