Buddhist worship and practice
The Buddha image is one of the objects of worship for Buddhists as it represents the spiritual ideal they aim for—enlightenment. In practising the Five Precepts, Buddhists take their first step towards enlightenment. Buddhist worship also involves religious symbols to aid spiritual practice, including prayers and meditation. Offerings, in the form of incense, flowers and candles are also an important part of daily worship.
