Environmental education and awareness
No environmental programme, however good, can be completely successful without public support, and such support can only be expected from citizens who are aware of environmental problems and who are committed to doing something about them. An effective education programme is therefore an essential part of Malaysia's long-term environmental management. Its primary objective is to enhance public awareness and commitment through the dissemination of environmental information, training seminars and educational campaigns and activities.
