Stunning record of Malaysiana

The essence of Malaysia is captured in stunning color and detail in the Encyclopedia of Malaysia series the first seven volumes of which are now available in major bookstores.
Each volume, priced at RM95, covers one aspect of country's past and contemporary features. The seven available volumes are on the environment, plants, animals, early history, architecture, the seas and early modern history.
The production quality is excellent, and each page is generously graced with historical photos, illustrations and photographs culled from resources from around of the country.
The Encyclopedia of Malaysia series was first mooted in 1994, and according to the publisher, Editions Didier Millet, work on the remaining eight books in the series is already under way.
Once completed, the 15-volume series will cover Malaysia's modern economy, religions, language and literature, people and traditions, the Malay Sultanate government and politics, the performing and visual arts and craft.
Each volume is edited by noted academics and experts, including Professor Datuk Dr Sham Sani of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Dr Cheah Boon Kheng, formely of Universiti Sains Malaysia, artists Datuk Syed Ahmad Jamal Datuk Dr Khoo Kay Kim , formely of Universiti Malaya.
